New Gig Day!

Wreath

We’ll be returning to the APL Winter Reception this year to play a set of holiday jazz tunes. New tunes will include “What Child Is This?,” “I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm,” “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?,” “A Marshmallow World,” and “My Favorite Things.” Plus we’ll play some “hits” from last year’s festival. Come on out for some great food and entertainment. We’ll be playing on the main stage in the upper dining area starting at 2:00pm.

New Gig Day!

Cat-Bag

The cat’s out of the bag! We’re playing this year at APL Family Day on August 3rd from 3-5pm in the Kossi Center.

Stop on by for some cool jazz, cool FREE ice cream, and a rest from this summer heat wave. We’ll be playing 2 sets of jazz classics (and not so classics), everything from swing-to-funk, bop-to-blues, funk-to-calypso, by Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Ellington, Herbie Hancock, Thelonius Monk, and many more. Just look for us where we played at the Holiday Festival, or follow the cool grooves! Hope to see you there.

Holiday Festival Music and Photos

Wreath

We had a blast playing the Holiday Festival this year. To get you in the holiday spirit, we uploaded the music from our set and some photos. The arrangements of Here Comes Santa Claus (very “Tenor Madness”-ish), God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (sounds a bit like Monk’s “In Walked Bud”), Frosty the Snowman (“Frosty Bossa” as we called it in rehearsal), and Christmas Time Is Here (free piano solo by Julius, love that mute on the trumpet Vivek) were first rate. We hope to be back again next year.

New Gig Day!

Wreath

We’ll be playing a set of Holiday Jazz tunes for our friends and collegues at a private event on December 5th. Ever wonder what Frosty The Snowman sounds like as a Bossa-Nova? Or God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen as a 20 bar Swing tune? Then come on out, and have a cup of cheer! Yes, we’ll be doing that one too!
