Bryce Walburn, a Lancaster County, PA native, has been playing saxophone since age 9. As a student at Hempfield High School, he played in the 2009 PMEA All-State Wind Ensemble and the 2010 PMEA All-State Concert Band. He also performed with the Hempfield Jazz Ensemble, winning solo awards at several regional competitions. Bryce is a 2015 graduate of Drexel University, earning a bachelors and masters degree in electrical engineering, as well as a minor in music, a minor in entertainment engineering, and a graduate certificate in engineering management. While at Drexel, he received performing arts scholarships for his participation in the Concert Band, Pep Band, Fusion Band, Jazztet, Free Improvisation Ensemble, Jazz Orchestra, and Symphony Orchestra. Bryce currently plays saxophone in the Columbia Concert Band and was selected as the first chair alto in the 2016 Maryland All-State Community Band. In addition to saxophone, he is an accomplished pianist. Bryce joined JHU/APL in 2015, and CEFJ in the summer of 2016.
